The SE Group, one of the world’s pre-eminent authorities on the ski industry, completed a comprehensive study on the issue and the answer is yes. Garibaldi at Squamish will continue to contribute to the “synergy” of western BC ski resorts, making the region more attractive as a ski destination.

Because the resort will be phased-in over time, in a manner concurrent with the continued expansion of the BC tourism market, it does not pose a competitive threat to other ski resorts such as Whistler Blackcomb.

The study also notes that Garibaldi at Squamish will help relieve the pressure on local resorts that are already too busy on weekends and peak days.
