The SE Group reports that BC must continue to grow as a ski destination in order to achieve the government’s goal of doubling tourism revenues to $18 billion by 2015. 

Comparable skier visit projections over this period grow from approximately 6 million in 2007 to an estimated 10.1 million in 2015, for a total of 4.1 million additional visits. 

The required additional capacity to meet this target within the next eight years is equivalent to adding two ski resorts the size of Whistler.
