Will there be enough snow for skiing?
The SE Group, a leading international firm specializing in the planning, design, and development of mountain and resort communities, conducted a comprehensive study of the resort’s ski conditions. Several historic snow studies have been made
comparing Garibaldi to other areas in the region. These studies (including one completed as recently as 2007) conclude that there is “plenty of snow” for the resort site.
Snow depth at the resort village (1,100 metres elevation) will be greater than 65 cm for 75% of the time before the end of November. These same conditions do not generally apply to Grouse and Hollyburn until the end of December and Whistler town site until the end of January.
Slope gradients and general terrain conditions confirm the area is ideal for a world-class ski resort.
